The NUNKI sheet works on the principle of deep pressure. Deep pressure is an even pressure that goes deeper than the superficial skin layers. A stimulus that penetrates to the deeper skin layer and even muscles and joints stimulates the enteroceptors and proprioceptors. You then become more aware of your own body and turn inwards, causing environmental stimuli to be perceived less.
For example: if an insect crawls across your arm, it feels like a stimulus from outside. It tickles, and you react by moving your arm. A firm massage (deep pressure), on the other hand, helps you sink more into your body and relax. A firm cuddle has the same effect.
The NUNKI sheet provides deep pressure on your child's upper body. This helps your child relax better and process stimuli. As a result, your child falls asleep faster and sleeps longer.
