Why a low TOG value makes the difference

Parenthood is full of choices, especially when it comes to caring for your newborn. One of the biggest decisions is creating the right sleep environment for your little one. At Fedde&Kees we understand that parenting can be challenging enough. That is why we would like to support you with our carefully selected range of baby bedding. Our products, such as the NUNKI sheet and the BUNDI sleeping bag, are specially designed with you and your baby in mind. That is why we opted for a low TOG value.

Why a low TOG Value?

Simply because we put your baby's safety and comfort at the top of our list. We want your baby to be happy with our products. To start at the beginning: TOG stands for Thermal Overall Grade. It tells you how warm bedding is. A low TOG value means that the bedding retains less heat, while a high TOG value provides more warmth.

At Fedde&Kees we have opted for bedding with a low profile TOG value. This is all about creating a comfortable sleeping environment for your little one. Read on and discover why we think a low TOG value is the best choice.

Why is a low TOG value important??

1. Safe for all seasons. With Fedde&Kees you don't have to worry about seasonal bedding. Our low TOG products are versatile and suitable for use all year round. In winter you can easily add extra warmth by placing a blanket over the NUNKI sheet, a thicker sleeping bag or combining the products with warmer clothing. This way you have to purchase fewer new products and you can combine your baby's bedding into a nice whole.

2. Prevent overheating. Heat is more dangerous than cold! Babies cannot yet sweat like adults do. They lose heat through their heads and hands and that makes cooling down a bit more challenging. If your baby gets too hot in bed, this can have major consequences. By choosing products with a low TOG value, you reduce the risk of overheating and ensure that your baby always sleeps safely and comfortably.

3. Every baby room is different. One house is not the same as the other. Maybe the sun is in your baby's room all day long, causing it to warm up quickly, or maybe you are bothered by drafts in your house. The ideal temperature for a baby room is 18 to 20 degrees, but we also understand that this is not always feasible. That is why it is useful to work with a base that is as low as possible in terms of TOG value, because adding heat is much easier than removing heat.

4. Babies let out when they are cold. One of the biggest advantages of a low TOG value is that babies immediately notice when they are cold. A baby who is too cold immediately starts crying, which gives you as a parent the opportunity to react quickly and keep them warm properly. Babies who are overheated often no longer have the energy to make themselves heard. As a parent you don't notice much if your baby is too hot. That's what makes it so dangerous!

Every baby is different

Your baby is unique and has its own needs when it comes to sleep. That is why we have opted for an approach that gives you as a parent the freedom to determine the correct TOG value based on your individual needs.

With our NUNKI sheets and BUNDI sleeping bags you can care for your baby in a safe and comfortable way, while having the freedom to adapt to changing seasons and temperature fluctuations. Give your baby the best start with our products that combine safety and comfort in a way that suits your unique situation.
